Quite a long time we didn't play together. The personil of the band still perform in many events and several times Rencang band perform with additional players. This time on See Hok Kiong stage of Loenpia Jazz 2014, finally we perform together.

With Olive Latuputty on vocal and Ari Kojack on percussion, Rencang band entertain the audiences attendance at front yard of 'Klentheng' See Hok Kiong, Sunday afternoon, June 15, 2014. Olive is a jazz vocalist who had crossed the globe singing jazz songs from stage to stage. That afternoon Rencang band opened their performance with a song Donna Lee, a jazz standards of Charlie Parker. Some musicians also said that the song was actually created by Miles Davis.

Olive then sequentially sang two songs namely 'Orange Colored Sky" popularized by Nat King Cole and 'Love That Will Last' from Renee Oldstead. After briefly communicate with the audiences, Olive sang a few songs starting from 'Good Times' belongs to Edie Brickell, 'Careless Whisper from George Michael and a song popularized by Hedi Yunus called ' Prahara Cinta' that we've rearrangement.

After an itroduction to the audiences, Olive and Rencang band closed the performance that afternoon with the song 'Happy' from Pharrell Williams. Last song that has a quite energic beat, Ari Kojack and I collaborated with a solo drum and percussion.
Glad to be reunited with the band in Loenpia Jazz 2014.

  1. Salam kenal Mas Bagus...

Terus terang saya kehilangan jejaknya Olive. Saya suka sekali albumnya yang berjudul Fantasy yang dirilis thn 2007. Apa ada album Olive lagi setelah album Fantasy itu ya Mas?

Dan, Mas menyebut nama Renee Olstead disini. Bagaimana ya gaya Olive membawakan lagu Love that Will Last itu. Ah pasti syahdu. Saya pernah menyaksikan penampilan Renee Olstead di Kampoeng Jazz 2014. Saya menyimpulkan kalau Renee hanya dikenal disini lewat Love that Will Last.

THE CONCEPT OF LOENPIA JAZZ 2014

This afternoon got a chance to share about the concept of Loenpia Jazz 2014 to friends in University of Diponegoro (Fisip Faculty). The purpose of this presentation is socialization and getting support from fellow students in conducting Loenpia Jazz 2014 ahead. The following pictures are the concept of Loenpia Jazz 2014 which I've arranged. If you're willing to give input or suggestion please welcome to do so..

A GLANCE OF LOENPIA JAZZ 2015

We started earlier than in previous years and friends who are involved even more and more. Some new faces bring fresh ideas. Friends who have been involved from the beginning are there, even though not a few people go. There is no big deal for the JAZZNGiSORiNGiN community with that because the members have all the right and option.  And volunteers who joined this year is exceptional. I appreciate the volunteers more than the people who two faced and used this moment to look concerned and take advantage on it. The time has proven who are doing it with heart. Loenpia Jazz this year is not located in a place that has historical significance to the city of Semarang. However, we promise this location will be part of the memorable memories for jazz lovers in Indonesia. If you are curious, I will not mention the location in this post. The theme this year is a culinary where visitors will be able to enjoy the many culinary specialties of Semarang while enjoying jazz music performances.
