DEVELOPING SEMARANG CITY OF JAZZ WITH LOENPIA JAZZ

When an idealism began to compromise with many things, that's where the guts and maturity began in the test. It has been became a risk of a movement or an organization when it starts climbed to a higher level than before. And also has become a character of some people to gossip about the success of a movement for some reason, either envy or want to become personally famous. Not to mention the people in the organization itself that stole the opportunity to tell to all parties that this achievement is the result of his/her personal hard work not a team work. But generally, we are hand in hand building the same dream because every personal surely has their own goal.

About three years ago, I gave a concept to synergize the activities of the three parties, government, private and community. So many various ways adopted to achieve this concept. For example is taking the locations of activities that have a historical value to the city. Aims to gain community pride and make them aware that their city has the maximum potential yet unpublished and it will turns worthy 'sold' on a national level. Then convince the city government that the activity will impact on the level of tourism visits to the city of Semarang. Not to mention the potential investment that will enter when Semarang proven safe to conduct a national scale of activity. For private parties, obviously they are benefited with various forms of promotion that will be seen by visitors.

Can't be denied that behind the goal of achieving synergy of various parties are also to pay operational costs of the activity. But we are a fighter and it's proven. Even untill today we must circulate donation boxes at each show. If we may forget about the funding problems for a while, the synergy between the three parties have been formed and make a differences now. And I draw again a concept with the same time limit of three years towards better festival. Better is quite a difficult word when it has to be defined. But the actors in this activity will certainly understand that it is quite heavy to convince many parties to be involved. That requires more effort from this year until a few years.

Then idealistically, when all the experts talk about developing the city's brand by making various symbols, logos or other mark, we simply begin to revive the spirits of place in this beloved city. Because places with no activity in them is not a place at all (death). And we reverse the opinion that some places are not possible or feasible to be a venue of large-scale jazz music performances. We relive with the limitations of our ability that is jazz.

However, this limitation does not become a limitation because we are moving as free jazz music, we are feel free to engage all parties. All forms of art, music to culinary are collaborated with jazz. When all the places in the city comes alive, then the city had come to life. It is still a big dream to form the image of a city or form the city brand by doing activities like this. But there's a say that a thousand steps begins with one step. We've stepped up and we are confident that our step will make a positive effect. And I hope this can be a stimulant for all the citizens of the city to carry out creative activities and revive the spirit of the city then formed the image or brand of the city.

If I can make a scheme of the way I think, you can see at the picture above. Well, what I think and do 3 years ago can be proven today and still has to be fought for. So I guess we'll discuss again about this concept next 2 or 3 years. While waiting, we do not stop making difference. We'll continue working and doing. Because talk is cheap but action is priceless.
