In the center of Little India on Serangoon Road, Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple dedicated to the Hindu deity of power, Kali. Its dark image often depicted with many weapons couples, each hand holding a gun pictured on the wall mandapan or worship space.
Built in 1855 by Tamil laborers, the temple has a South Indian architectural styles. The gate or tower, a common element in South Indian temple architecture, is built so that the altitude can be seen from a distance, so that people can pray, make a demand for them from a distance even if they are not able to visit the temple.

If you're wondering why the temple bell put at the door, you will be interested to know that it is meant for people to make a ringing sound before entering, because their requests have been answered. Walking inside, you'll also see the ceiling is decorated with statues of the gods of Hindu mythology, the throne while the main shrine is home to the black statue of Goddess Kali, flanked by her sons Ganesha and Murugam.
The temple is open every day at 06.00 am to 12.00 am and 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm Singapore time. If you want to witness the religious activities in the temple, you can visit on Tuesday or Friday.
